Tis the season, I guess. Number One Son graduates from Big State University today, with a 3.692 GPA. No, I’m not a proud mom.
He gets to keep his student job through the summer, and he’s applied for an internship in the governor’s office in the fall. He’s taking the LSAT this fall, and he’ll start applying to law schools once he gets his results. There is a slight possibility he may be moving here if he ends up working in New Orleans next year. That would be really nice.
Graduation is at 3:00, with dinner at 7:30 with his roommate and family.
Proud Mom! with a right to be.
Way to go #1!
congratulations nanna ! dont bust your buttons at the graduation.
it would be great if he could work close to home.
so , that will be 2 lawyers in your family. maybe they can form their own firm.
i am watching extreme home makeover and thinking about ya fondly.
Hi Ann, how exciting for you and your son. My DD is off to college and I miss her, so as mommy1 said “it would be great if he could work close to home.”
Congratulations to your son. Any particular law schools in mind?
Not really. He’s keeping an open mind. He’s hoping for 1st or 2nd tier based on strong LSATs. If he stays in Louisiana, he’s saying Tulane (at 30K/year
)
I’m pushing for a JD/MPA joint degree, maybe from someplace like Indiana (which is #3 nationally for MPA programs).
Either that, or just work for a couple of years. It would be good if he could have some work experience under his belt and a feel for real life. Although Real Life is overrated.
