A Referral

When discussing my lack of motivation for seeking out increased social opportunities, I used this explanation (a true one): People are vast sucking black holes of need. I have nothing inside to give. I have traveled down too many one-way streets.

My therapist heard depression and emotional depletion. A perceptive women. She has referred me to a psychiatrist for a thorough evaluation and medication review.

I am better, but this is not as good as it gets. Thanks goodness. I’m better, but I’m only halfway up the hill.

Baby steps.

Go for the drugs - I hear they are great, or at least make you feel they are great. Not me, had a sister in law with us for a while, and only the drugs let her pretend to be semi human and aware.

Well, some people are black holes of need who will suck all the energy out of you. Then there are the personalities so dreary they suck all the air out of the room when they walk in. That said, it’s best to have some social interaction. However, I get claustrophobic in groups, so I get my interaction online. But that’s just me.

My therapist believes my online interactions are a compulsive behavior in response to other problems that the online interactions won’t solve. Like loneliness and fear.

So, Randy, do you and your DW want to have lunch? Hell, you live less than five minutes away. Perhaps we should wait until you finish your copies of the next Harry Potter, and one of you can lend it to me.

“Louie and the Red Head Lady” in Mandeville sells all you can eat shrimp for $8.99. 7-2 W-S. Good stuff, and the hummingbird cake is pretty good if Ginger’s baked some. I wouldn’t bother with the lemon chiffon pie, though, the nut crust is too thick.
