My parents have a dial-up connection, and only one phone line. It takes forever to do the simplest things…like download the Macromedia Shockwave Player so little boy can play games.
The second day I was here, I went to the library to read my mail and blogs, because it was so much faster. But it’s summer, so there are lots of people wanting to use the internet connections at the library, and my allowed time is limited. I have jobs I need to apply for!

Heh… I do all my heavy searching at work. At home (where we have dial up) I keep it to the bare essentials (forums and such). One of these days, we’ll get on the high speed highway at home.
I have DSL for my work computer in my office. I have the thingy to hook up our family computer to it but waiting for hubby “to get around to it”. He’s not like your hubby. It’s slooooooooooooooooooooow. Plus the computer is an older computer anyway so I do most of my web surfing on my work pc. Hopefully hubby will hook up the other thingy so we can have high speed on that pc, too. I won’t even go on that pc….I am so annoyed by it.
We have 3 phone lines and 3 cell phones. Crazy. How DID we survive before? lol amazing.
That’s one reason why was I reluctant to get high speed. One gets spoiled. But, get it I did, and now I am spoiled. When we visit our favorite spot in the country we can dial in at 28.8 max. That’s what I said –28.8 — max!
We just got BellSouth DSL at home, which cost us less than MSN dial-up because we bundled it with our local and long-distance telephone service. It’s great for us.
